I just called USCIS and they asked me to wait for 90 days. Our application was recd on July 23rd by B.GERKENSMEYER at NSC. She said that NSC has is processing Dec 21, 2006applications now. Couldn't give me an answer when I told her that USCIS website is showing dates of Aug 9th, 2007 as of today.

You will get 200 minutes to call India for $1. You will get 2 minutes of talk time for 1 cent.
Also unlimited US minutes.
Ok...the way I see this is 5000min/month at $25 (not adding taxes) is 5 cents a minutes...that is more than what I pay for my calling cards....bottom line....if your monthly calling bill is less than $ 25 there is no reason why you should get Vonage.

I just got a response back from TSC. They attached my letter, the envolope I sent the letter in and a response.
The response is a standard one...."Thank you for your recent enquiry to the TSC.....contact NCSC...blah blah...blah". No mention of AC-21, 140 etc. I dont know what to make of it. Same for my wife's letter.
Well...atleast we know it reached them :).

I am looking for a Project Manager in a Tri-state area, who is extremely Hands-on with CRM and ERP Technologies. At least 3 years of experience with CRM & ERPs. Has to be able to communicate well, excellent verbal & written skills.
Knowledge of Infopath and Sharepoint is a HUGE PLUS!!! As well as any Accounting experience.
Must have a valid American Passport or American Green card!
( unfortunately on this position we cannot work with H1B or Third parties, or any other visa-status )

i got my 'decision' email on 10th. But after that nothing. No CPO email/No welcome email/ No LUD.
I am hoping that they didn't let my case 'drop through cracks'. Considering USCIS's way of working I wouldn't be surprised. Will give a week or two more.

Did it suggest lots of denial rate on 140 (especially Eb1s)? And it is deterring 140 filing since Jan.? I believe all those lawyers, and bodyshops realize it.
Neither the denial nor the approval rates are significantly changed. However, the receipts have fallen. Look at that as many universities and private companies not hiring teaching and research specialists. So it seems like the economy is the deterrent.

All right, looks like we got (or will get) some attention from media. DOS and USCIS got (or will) it too. That's good. They will forward flowers to hospital, and this is good too (hate to waste flowers)! Bad, if they will not strip messages from buckets, veterans do not need them at all, BUT if they decided to take messages off ... just picture that USCIS will stuck on forwarding flowers instead of doing their job. Who will win?

My piece of advice -
I see that a lot of people are not happy about L1 visa holders replacing them or their collegues because the sponsering company is either not following the law or found a loophole.
It is natural to get angry and frustrated. But I would suggest - not to be insensitive to those people as it is not their fault. Treat them well and good and help them understand what it is and why are you concerned.
Do a proper assessemt on what exactly the issue is and definitely help ourselves to make sure fraud is not being committed.

For the same reason S&P500 shares which used to be something like $130-140 couple of months back are now selling for $85. Now should I go blaming NYSE/NASDAQ for that and ask my money back?
Buying house is not much different than buying stocks - both of them are investments at the most fundamental level and are hence susceptible to ups and downs. If you don't have stomach for it just don't do it.
Now, if you say you don't treat your home as investment but as a place to live then you should not be bothered if your house value is down temporarily in the short term. You can still live in it.
The very first post in the thread says the poster hoped to sell it off in two years and pocket a quick profit. Nothing wrong with that but it's called speculation and every speculation carries a certain risk with it. Own up to that risk! There is no investment with only upside. That's the very basic tenet of investment.

I just contacted my senator's local office .working on the letters now .Thanks IV for coming up with this wonderful initiative..I hope our community gathers around and works together to make this a success , please put bickering and cynicism to rest for sometime and work pro actively on this new IV action item..

I think this is much easier for hundreds of people to participate as its easy, doesent take up too much time etc. and brings about our points across as compared to DC rally (please dont get me wrong here it was great but difficult for lot of people to attend because of various reasons).
