I've so many hard working American friends... it really make me want to work harder to compete with them, but these bunch of cry babies at Numbers are scared of skilled workers, they don't want to upgrade their skills, they want to work 9-5 and get paid for their incompetencies.

You guys won't believe how glad I am to read a few posts here where some people are standing up for themselves and refusing to take bullshit from certain lousy employers. This will send a message to those kinds of employers that they can't use the immigration system and treat employees like shit while continuing to profit from these hard-working people.

If Ron Gotcher's logic works, consular processing may be more quicker for India/China EB2.
He says USCIS does not work fast enough to adjudicate 140k cases a year. They only do about 85K. But DOS is clear that they want all 140k visas used up. The result is PDs will be advanced forward and the balance numbers will be used by consular posts.

I also know cases where during the time of campus placement, all A grade companies required US citizenship/Green Card status. Imagine doing a 100K+ investment and then listening to this crap - ooops you do not have GC......right now we are not sponsoring H1-B...........

To the person, who commented about their CIO being from Univ of Phoenix, I worked at a biotech where the CFO was an MBA from Golden Gate University ... You don't want to know where the company went.

You are correct but his case could be that his employer cancelled his 140 which could damage his case more than the use of AC21 to change employers.

Your argument may be true only some extent. If you keep on asking more H1b and GC without meaningful reform of H1b then it won't sell in the congress and they will try to keep staus quo and you have to wait years to get gc. How do you resolve the problem of Cap reached within few days? Will congress accept unlimited H1bs? What is the solution for this?
Open your eyes and look clearly. This bill is designed to put an end to any competition for middle aged racist engineers afraid of competition from people who fit the profile of the membership of IV. Some members on the forum seem to think that this bill contain provisions to protect H-1b workers, but that is not true. This bill is designed to mean that current workers on H-1 are taking away American jobs as the protection proposed by the bill were not there when most of the forum members came on H1b. This bill was written by Ron Hira and IEEE. If nothing else then we need to understand that Ron Hira et al, are not in love with any of us. They represent middle aged racist engineers in US who are scared of competition and globalization. So please stop day dreaming and expecting that this bill would have anything to protect/benefit green card applicants. I understand/share the frustration with body-shoppers/consulting companies. Why whine about consulting companies and, work for them at the same time. If you are so good then why don't you switch jobs. But the thing is, employers or consulting companies did not create the currently broken green card process, neither did they create the backlog. The lawmakers, who did not attend to the immigration system for more than a decade, are responsible for the current system. And organizations like IEEE are responsible for opposing any meaningful reform on H1B/green card issues. Now they are using the situation to their advantage by tainting a pictures if we all the people in US, waiting for their green cards, should not have been in US if the system proposed by the bill was in place. House prices are down nearly 20% and have perhaps another 10% to go.
The pain ie 30% of the value of the housing stock will end up being distributed across various players. Homeowners will take the bulk of it, Financial institutions will take some, Gov't unfortunately will take some(ie tax payers), foreign investors will take some, Insurers some, Inflation will eat away some(this will be a 2-3 yr process when all is said and done), etc. In the end the markets will climb out of it. Exactly how much each of these parties will eat is currently being negotiated on capitol hill. The truth is nearly every bank is under water at this time. However, commercial banks are only safe because they have stable depositor bases. Hedge funds and other institutional investors who play the repo market are more fickle and have seized up the bank repo and other credit markets. Liquidity and lowered rates alone is not solving this mainly because it is a question of confidence. This will get better once the gov't puts in a more definitive solution. I hope however that whatever solution is provided makes it extremely painful for any one to want to take that route, ie the shareholders and management should be wiped out and that too only for a loan which must be repaid. IF real estate recovers to anything close to what it was in 2006 by say 2015 or if confidence surges sooner, then the US Gov't could conceivably make money from this.

Some ROW folks here suddenly are saying that they like country cap quotas and there are against IV agenda.Why in the first place there should be a country cap on EB immigration ? Is it not the best and brightest in the world ? If there is FIFO implemented, how can a person in ROW will be effected by India and China as long as they meet the standards and file their petition on time.

And there is nothing wrong with that, right, because in the end you do not know what the financial situation of people on here is. One guy suggested a monthly contribution of 20 bucks, I laughed myself off the chair when I saw that. You're right, this is about "how not to pay" and why shouldn't it be. When you get 485 approval you will not need EAD or AP :D
It's OK to file for EAD and AP yourself, I did it 4 times but you need I-485 receipt notice and I-140 receipt and then approval notice to do that. So if you are wiling to wait till your lawyer get notices (it could be months for those who are filing in July) and your employer and lawyer will provide you a copy of all notices - it's fine to file yourself.

I have been lurking on this forum to understand the plight of EB immigrants and the posts the last few weeks have confirmed my belief that the problem exist because a lot of people came to the US from 1999-2006 and want to stay here permanently. The EB immigration system was fine before then; thus, the problem is supply/demand, not the immigration policies.

You showed your two big foot in your mouth by saying that immigration policy has nothing to do with this and this is purely supply/demand. Whom are you trying to kid? Supply and demand changed because the immigration policy changed. H1B visas were increased from 65K to 195K, without a increase in the GC numbers. Folks on the hill made businesses happy by increasing the H1B numbers and did not care a rat's ass about how the increase will choke the GC system. The effect is compounded with 245i and USCIS inefficiency. But the root cause is policy that did not encompass all aspects of Employment based immigration.
