My worry is if they dont give me anything in writing tomorrow and down the lane if uscis (god forbid ) denies/abonden our 485 based on this new notices saying we did not give our FP's, then How to manage that.

Worry about it after the fact.
Technically you can maintain both PR...esp. if you live & commute in one of the border cities like Vancouver, Windsor. But at one point, you may have to decide which citizenship you want.
To maintain future growth, Canada has to rely heavily on immigration - thats one of the reason, its easy to get Canadian PR.
Depending on your priorities, it may be worthwhile to continue maintaining Canadian PR after you get US GC. (for e.g Canada allows sponsor of immediate relatives as a PR while you have to wait for US citizenship of the same. Also getting Canadian citizenship takes 3 years as opposed to 5 in the US)

It seems like every one is yelling and trying to make others feel low if they didn't attend rally or didn't contribute...
The website is free and its up to individuals to do what ever they want ...
May be they will feel the heat or retrogression after 2 years or so and start doing something about it (like contributing..
All i am saying is do not chase visitors away with your anger...

hi:
I am filing my I140 and i485 togther this week. I have had 2 previous employers to the current one.
I wporked for my first employer for nearly 3 years ( some months less) and then other employer for some 4 months and finally switching to the current employer..where I have been working for 6.5 years.
I am getting experience letter from first employer but second employer where I worked for 4 months has no record.
Is it ok to file I140 with just experienced letters from my first and the present employer and let go the one with just 4 months? Please let me now..I did call the former employer who worked there..but she also does not remmeber because it was 7 years back and that too for short time.
Please let me know..is that is risky or will come back with RFE?

With a priority date of July 2006, you are looking at another four to five years before you get your GC barring any changes in current laws and available visa. Many people advise that you maintain your H1 during the wait just to have a fallback position in case your 485 is denied.
So my status doesnt change until my I 485 is approved- any idea how long that will take? My H 1B expires in Nov of 2007 should I get an extension? Thank you for your replies- Lisa

Should we start active compaign for HR 5882. I think still we are in same year and we have at end of Committee. Senate has also same version of bill..
Core : Please update if thinking to start campaign for this one. Lots of economist also suggesting to give gc to legal immigrants so they can buy house.
Please post yout thoughts.

I am interested in exploring the AC-21 option.
My sponsoring company is a big company and I think they wont revoke 140. 140 was approved in 2006. 485 filed in july,2007.

Hi,
I am a F1 student and am on OPT now. I got my H1B visa approved from Oct-1 2006 to Sep-30 2009.
But my school said I cannot get my degree certificate till December 2006.
My question is when I apply for my Green card will I be considered into EB2 list or EB3 list. On what basis will this be decided.
Please suggest.

2) My wife's AP filed last year took Six months to get approved and what happens if you fly out while your AP is pending / sent for renewal. I read in this forum, not fly out, while you AP is pending.
This is not an issue in your case. It's okay to travel out while your AP application is pending as long as you have a valid current AP. I did this last year after my lawyer confirmed this to me. I also remember seeing a USCIS memo to this effect.

I believe it is worth the 180 days wait. And AC-21 is practical for a lot of situations. Anyway you dont really have to wait 180 days, if you can convince the current employer not to revoke the 140 (at least for the next 180 days).
My answer should have been different if you were not eligible to file 485.
Also give some serious thoughts about filing 485 before marriage. If you are unlucky enough, it can have serious side-effects.

I was contemplating on job change before dates became current in June and decision to accept 485....
Now that 485 is filed and this DUST has settled, wondering whether all this is worth the wait. (even 180 days).
Currently in my 5th year of H1b, by waiting out the 6 months, I'll also get 3 yr h1b ext. (and hopefully ead by then).
So is waiting 180 days the best choice? or screw all this and change! (I dunno if this AC21 etc etc is practical...same job description etc)
(I am single and those complexities are not to be considered I guess yet.
Plan is to try and change jobs on H1b and use EAD only if there is a dire need like layoff to find another job quicker)

I have the same issue.
Can see the status of I-485s online, but system doesn't even recognize my I-140 LIN#.
Attorney says that this is fine. Asks to wait for few more months.

They are still processing application received on July 2nd now. I bet none of the application received on July 3rd and later has not been opened yet. So they are safe.
Yeah so far only TWO notices though. I am seriously beginning to wonder if filers between July 2 - July 17 are actually going to be penalized coz NOTHING in USCIS is ever "FIFO".

Yes, you can run a business on EAD.
You can own a business on H1-B too. But you cannot work for it . You can invest and have someone manage the operation for you. you can take profits but not work as an employee.
