Check for past updates on the EAD delays thread. IV had contacted USCIS on EAD delays faced by our members.

Also, please let me know if there is a seperate link for paid members and I will access that too (my wife's username has a paid membership)

This topic may be a bit counterproductive to what we've set to achieve as IVians but I hope folks see this in a true light. I could have set the title 'Return to Homeland', in my case its Return to India, hence the title.
I have been here for the past 9 years and as days progressed, my heart is back home. I may be closer than I ever was to get a GC but it seems I am to a point where I really want to give a shot to R2I. Reasons are several and are probably alike to several of yours. Family, Support and the whole other 9 yards..
That said, finding jobs back home while you are here in US seem not the easiest. I have seen a few in Google/Microsoft but I suppose there are many more. I am looking to return to Hyderabad. The reason why I am posting this here to is to seek help. If you or your friends work for companies that are looking for experienced managers to R2I, I would appreciate if you could post it here or PM me.
I am looking to R2I early next year but if the right opportunity comes along, I cud do it sooner than that. Thanks.

Hopefully I might not get any RFE and as you said if I get the reciept number after 14 or 15 calendar days and update the result of petition in a week or so, that would be great.

I'll be applying for my wife's and my visa stamping and therefore did some research on this issue myself. I believe that we'll need to print out DS-160 as well and take it to the consulate, the same way we did with previous forms. We can, therefore, write our names (or whoever is the applicant) in our native language on it.

However I think that you can substitute the underlying 140 to the EB2 petition with the earlier priority date and hence make your 485 approvable. You are entitled to the better PD and category. You do however need to work with the petitioning employer, which based on your approval could end up being the Eb2 petition employer.
The suggestion to file AOS for the other one is also a good idea, since your EB2 140 PD is almost certain to stay current for some time, You might very well be able to get your green card through CP within a few months.

Since I did my master's here. I think they filed my case under EB1...I need to re-check. If this is the case then how long does it take. Yes I'm an indian.
EB1, EB2 and EB3 depend NOT on your personal qualifications but on the job requirements, which are:
EB3 - BS or BS+<5 yrs
EB2 - BS+>5 yrs or MS
EB1 - PhD
Find out from your employer or from the job ad that you've been hired for. Good Luck!

Like it or not, AR11 is mandatory and it could even lead to deportation for violating the AR11 requirements. A fear of a RFE should not be the factor to stop filing AR11. File it and be safe.
485 RFEs are not very complicated from what I have seen unless you have something wrong with your filing, you have nothing to be afraid of.

Do you guys think I would lose my right to use EAD if I move to another employer by transferring my H1B? (I still have 2 years on it).
Please research the forumn for answer to your question...has been discussed a lot of times before...
To answer in short...You will loose your right to use EAD if your I40 is still pending and your employer decides to revoke it...

for further studies diploma is under grad, you will qualify to continue further studies for Bachelors

I also hear "edu eval" for "work" and "study" may be two different processes. So not sure about the study part.

Those numbers would be correct as of 2nd half of 2004, I think. I got it from a Labor Cert discussion thread (from immigrationportal.com) around that time.

Good advice vamsi_poondla. Changing job is always a problem in I-485 stage. Making this more flexible is one of the administrative fixes IV is proposing in the letter to the President. One more reason for everyone to mail that letter, if not mailed already.
