Whats the fee of INR 155 for? Nothing of that sort was mentioned to me by the consular officer. He just asked to submit the passport. But if you do have to submit, should I get it in form of a receipt from HDFC as I did for the visa appointment or just cash?

I will definitely send all these letters today or tomorrow. But why are we not sending to all the service centers? Why only Texas? There are many cases at Vermont, California service centers which were never transferred to Texas. Would it not be appropriate to include these service centers in this campaign?

Received 'card production (green card)' approval e-mails for both me and my wife this morning.
IV leaders and IV Texas State Chapter can still count on my voluntary involvement. I love walking through the walkways of the Congress House and the Senate, especially the tram that connects the House and the Senate via the tunnel. ;)

It looks like USCIS is interpreting the rule the way they like.
It looks to me that they have lots of pressure from big companies and they are approving their applications in Particular. e.g., EB2-I with PD of 2006 are getting approvals, however EB2-I with PD in 2004 are still waiting.
There is no FIFO here and there is no clear rule. They can do whatever they like.
I am EB3-I too, plz don't take me wrong.

My current situation is that my wife and I applied for 485 separately.
my wife's PD is 2007 ( 485 applied in Aug 2007 )
I applied for 485 in Oct 2007, Since my PD is 2003 and is current as of now ( my 140 is pending ), I talked with our companys lawyer on what options do I have with regards to my wife's 485.
My lawyer suggested 2 options.
1. File 485 again for my wife as a spouse derivative. As per lawyer, this is very common and has experienced with these kind of situations.
2. Instead of filing a second 485 for my wife, just write a request letter to move her pending 485 to my 485 as a derivative. If this porting is successful, she cannot move back to her own 485.
I know some of us have gone with option#(1), but since option(2) involves very less paper work, did any of you have used this option so far?
I am confused as to which one to choose. My lawyer spelled diplomatic when asked about which option is better/safer:-)

Lost in all this is the fact that Punjabi wants to sell his house not because he cannot afford it anymore, but because he wants to move to a different city to a higher paying job and can't be bothered to take responsibility for his failed real estate venture. It's not exigent financial circumstances that are causing him to foreclose, it is greed and shortsightedness (colloquially known as "The American Dream"). Greed and shortsightedness already caused him to go 20K under the water. And they will now make him screw up his own credit history. If someone cannot learn from one mistake, I say let him keep making mistakes. He will soon find out how difficult life in the US can be if you don't have a good credit history. As for the burden on us taxpayers, hey, we've been spending 10 billion a week for the past 5 years dropping bombs on people, what's a mere 20K?

Thanks IV. I think this is much easier for hundreds of people to participate as its easy, doesent take up too much time etc. and brings about our points across as compared to DC rally (please dont get me wrong here it was great but difficult for lot of people to attend because of various reasons). there are times when your realism makes sense, then there are others when it's plain silly.
this was not a mistake. this was not an accident.
civil servants do not show up on weekends by accidents. and they do not do 6 mnths of work in 15 days by mistake.
it was intentional, directed and planned.
you can believe whatever motives you want and you can sympathize with uscis till kingdom come. but pleaaasee don't tell me it was a random event, some act of god that is our destiny or such crap. please!

Of course, person on L1 status can work at client site as long as he/she is directly managed by company that has sponsored L1 visa. They can not be directly managed by client. That is the restriction. Have you even read posts in this thread?
