I always thought applying for AP when priority date is current will result in them looking at your 485 application and eventually approve it.

Will you guys stop this madness atleast now?. If US started bending rules for people who send flowers, then everyone will try to manipulate the system. There is a lot of difference between the circumstances of originla gandhigiri and now. :rolleyes: That was our country back then, for crying out loud.We are in a foriegn country and the issuance of visa a previlege not a right.Why cant you guys understand this simple fact?. The British made us feel in the hey days that living in our own country was a previlege extended by their administration...even in that environment...Gandhigiri worked....but not without several initial failures..and Gandhi himself had acknowledge that non-violent resistence can succeed even against hitler but not without several initial failures...
The fact that we could get Mr. Gonzalez to even respond to the flower campaign itself speaks that Gandhigiri has worked...the publicity that this will generate will be of immense help....

What should be the answer to this question on I-485 part 2- out of following 2 options for my dependents ? to me it seems #b is the right answer for my family members 485 and #a for me. BUt some how teh legal guys are changing this from #b to #a for my dependents!!

I had my interview for an H1-B at N. Delhi consulate on December the 5th, 2007. The consulate officer told me it needs administrative processing and gave me a pink slip. I was also told that it may take anywhere from few days to 7-8 weeks. Today is February the 8th, 2008, and am still waiting on my visa. So if its any consolation to you stuck_here, I'm stuck here for almost 65 days now. Given that I have a PhD in Chemical Engineering, I might have fallen under the Technology Alert List, but, still, the wait time seems ridiculous. Any ideas from anyone about if there is anything I can do on my part to expedite the matters? Thanks.

I got one more email with the update (this is third email with the same staus "CPO"). This time I have SLUD on EAD and AP also. Here is the email...
Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production
On September 14, 2010 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.
My wife received here Welcome letter but I did not get one yet. Here is my timeline...
09/08/2010 - CPO emails for self and wife
09/09/2010 - Got emails updating the status to Decision for self and wife
09/10/2010 - Standard CPO email to self
09/11/2010 - Wife got the welcome letter (I-797) by USPS
09/15/2010 - CPO email to self with the new message (Document sent to address on file)
Still waiting for cards in hand.

Yes, I do agree that we should have some sense of personal responsibility and that is why the middle way is to rent out the house (probably at a bit lower price than your monthly mortgage) and pay the difference from your pocket - if you have to absolutely move out from the house. But, can somebody answer my question above..........why is the same house (not even a brick changed) being appraised at around 100k lower than it was done 2 years back, by the same bank??

The flowers are by no means a complement. They pass them to other people and basically, they are forwarding the shame to them as well. Whoever receives it would feel offended. Don't you think so? :rolleyes:

It is not clear what you mean when you say that. How can you get EAD without filing for 485 [which you can file only when your PD is current].

2004 July - labor cleared for my husband
2004 December applied for I140 and I485 --- I 410 approved EAD and AP issued
I was in the country on F1 and applied for I485 along with my husband in 2004
Graduated in 2005 and changed to H4 immediately although not required since the status is Adjuste status
So when my PD becomes current they will let me know if we get GC or not
My question was since i applied for I485 when i was on F1 will it be a problem. I asked my lawyer and he said no. But i dont know how far he is correct.

Guys, we have already seen the Dec visa bulletin and there is absolutely no change in processing dates so its even more important to fix the AC21 issue ASAP. With this huge delay in 485 approval, more and more people will force to get into AC21 and will see more denials.

How is your experience with Lingo customer service. Last year, I tried to switch to Lingo and the lady at customer service is very rude. She is so tired to answer questions and asked me to get all from website. I stopped switching to them.

I am even thinking of paying $100 cancellation fee and get off their service.
I am happy that Vonage came up with a good plan.

Let's set the questionable ethics of this idea aside for the moment.
I think that any loss that the bank occurs is treated as income on your part by the I.R.S in case of a "short-sale" as it is considered "forgiven debt". Also, in some states, a second "piggy-back" mortgage is a "recourse" loan - that would mean that they can come after you for that portion.
In case of a "sheriff-sale" there are no taxes owed - except for any second mortgage, HELOC, etc.
Think it through - you may have trouble renting a place or finding a job.
I had bought a house 2 years back thinking that i will sell it after couple of years and make money. I know many people might have done that. I didnt knwo that having a house will become a burden for me wrt moving to a different place in search of a job. I do see jobs in cities outside my state and was thinking of applying for those jobs. My problem is that if i sell my house, i will have to pay from my own pocket.
Having a house in this market has become a pain as it has made me immobile with respect to good job offers.
I was thinking that incase i find a job in a different state and cannot travel back home frequently and also renting is not a good option then should i leave the house to the bank for foreclosure?
Will this affect my GC process. I have no plans of buying a house in coming years.
